Round 2 - Race Report

Sunday morning the temperatures were cool but the smiles on the faces of the PeeWee riders would warm anybody’s heart.  After the riders meeting, sixteen riders headed to the starting line to start the race day.  Conner Noffz was the winner in the PeeWee class, followed by Austin Redding and Kaden Fluharty.  Andrew VanAtta was the first place winner in the Super PeeWee class.  Colby Howard and Zach Davidson were close behind Andrew.

The Min Quad riders were the next to see the flag drop. Watching the excitement and seeing the determination of these riders is really something.   Brianna Walker took first place in the Girls, with Kelly Bridges and Ciara Wyatt taking second and third.  Mini-Mod 11-13 rider Hunter Hart was the overall winner.

Super Mini 14-15 rider Dalton Hall was the Youth Bike overall winner.  Jonathan Johnson and Blake Grindstaff were close behind.  Several of the PeeWee riders who rode in the 8:00 a.m. race were also racing at 10:00 in the Youth bike race.  This really shows that these riders have determination and stamina to compete.

At 12:00 noon Ricky Towery dropped the flag for the Motorcycles to start. Paul Whibley got the hole shot but he entered the woods with Jesse Robinson, Steward Baylor and Jason Gilleland close behind.  For the next 2 hours, it was a battle for all the class wins.  Ashley Day, Grant Baylor and Greg Reynolds were the top three winners in the AA Expert class.  Robinson and Baylor battled all day for second place with Steward Baylor making a pass on the last lap to claim second to Paul Whibley.  Emily Raines was the winner in Vet C.

When the Quads went to the line at 3:00, the track was still in great shape.  Dustin Canipe was the first into the woods, followed by Bryan Cook and Chris Bithell.  Bithell quickly moved to the front and led the race until the last lap when he ran out of gas allowing Cook to take the checkered followed by Hoyland and Canipe.   The Reeves brothers took first and second in AA Expert with Jonathan Waddell claiming third.

Our next race will be at Antioch Motor Speedway on April 2nd.
