Track – Airport Hickory, NC
The Airport track is one of the oldest on the Mid East calendar – we have racing there since the beginning of Mid east – the GNCC Series even held a race there in the past. To describe the terrain- red powder clay. With a variety of track sections from hill climb, to water crossing, to rooted up woods sections – this is a fast track to contend with. Nothing too technical, but be ready for fast laps. Don’t forget this is an airport; there are several pilots who like to fly their planes around on race day – so stay off the runway! Directions: Exit 123, Hwy 127 South of I-40, go about 4 miles. From Shelby, take Hwy 18 North to Hwy 10 toward Hickory. Left on Hwy 127. Turn right on Huffman Farm Road. Follow arrows to track.
