| Round 12 Race Report | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sunday morning the temperatures were in the low 30’s,
the kids were bundled up and ready to race. Michael Overstreet was the
PeeWee winner, followed by Brody Johnson and Lane Bates. Nathan Davis,
Colby Burks, and Brianna May were the top winners in the Super PeeWee
class.
As the wind continued to blow, the Mini Quads were ready to go to the starting line. Zachary Webb was the winner in the Modified class, followed by Nicholas McCready, Blake Shepherd were the 2nd and 3rd place winners. In the 90cc division, Matthew McCready, Clint McCorkle and Westin Scott were the top winners. By the Youth Bike race, the temperature we getting close to 40 degrees, but the wind were still strong and cutting. Austin McCraw was the holeshot winner for the 65cc class as well as the 2nd place winner in the same class. Cody Jeffers was on the gas leading the Senior Mini class, followed by Damon Oakes and Brandon Grindstaff. Jon-Michael Rainey was back on track after running into mechanical problems at CAW. Rainey and Grant Baylor were wheel to wheel for a large part of the race, but Rainey prevailed. Jonathon Johnson, Taylor Johnson and Brandon Chapman were the winners in the Junior Mini class. The afternoon bike race was an exciting race. Jesse Robinson and Corey McDonald switched the lead position several times. Robinson lost a rear wheel and McDonald was able to get around capturing the lead. Jesse repaired his wheel and got within distance of McDonald but McDonald held on to win the race. Matthew Nix finished third in the Pro class. Mark Spriggle, Danny Pressley and Bryan Hensley were the top winners in the Senior A class. By the 3:00 starting time for the Quads, the winds had calmed down and the temperature was not as bitter cold. Dustin Canipe was the overall winner of the race, followed by Matthew Parker and Jeff Maloney. Will Cashion was the holeshot winner in the A Class. The top three winners in the Vet Class were Shon Franklin, Kenny Hemmings and Eddy Seigers. Our next race is November 1 at the Airport in Hickory. |
